Sewing Lessons - Spring 2012

I will be offering sewing and smocking lessons this semester. A typical class is one hour once a week. Below are some of the classes I will be offering, however, I'm flexible and can tailor the class to your needs!

Beginner's Class: Pillow and Apron
I plan to start out with the sewing basics such as getting to know your machine, sewing terms, how to read a pattern, etc. We will complete a pillow and a simple apron.
Intermediate Class: Skirt
Some of the things we might cover in this class are waistbands, zippers, buttonholes, and ruffles depending on the pattern.
Advanced Class: Dress
We will learn to put in a zipper, set sleeves, make buttonholes, create pleats, etc.
Basic Smocking:
We will cover the basic smocking stitches, as well as smock and construct a simple child's dress.
If any of you out there have an unfinished smocked dress that you never knew how to put together - I can help with that also! :)
I am available afternoons Monday thru Thursday. The classes will be small with a maximum of two girls/women per class. For moms with small children that live locally and want lessons for themselves , I am available to come to your home if that suits you best. The cost will be $15 per one hour class plus any fabric and notions needed for projects. I will also provide sewing machines for students to use during the lessons.

Please email me if you are interested!
