The Stella

I absolutely love this skirt pattern! It is the Stella Skirt by Lila Tueller. And yes, I have been known to climb a tree to find a little peace and quiet ...

Easter Dresses, Easter Dresses, Easter Dresses ...

Ok ... I know I said the prairie dresses where a big project but that was BEFORE I made 9 matching outfits that had no less than six different fabrics each.
Seven of the dresses were made from the Pink Fig Cuppy Cake pattern and two skirts I designed myself for Madeline and I to match. I really like coordinating fabrics which made this a fun project. My mind has been spinning thinking of the possibilities for this pattern : 4th of July, birthday, Christmas dresses ...

Little Girls on the Prairie ...

My Sisters, Elizabeth and Jubilee, asked if I would make matching prairie dresses for them and some of their friends.  The three older girls picked out matching fabric and the three younger girls chose a matching fabric. I used a McCall's costume pattern and made SIX of the same dress and yes, I was very glad when the last tuck was in place ...

First Signs of Summer ...

Our Nora Jane looks as sweet as ever in this pink and white bishop that I smocked in blue and embroidered with yellow roses!

China Dolls

These two little girls have a very special story -
they are both here in the States on medical visas and living with dear friends of our family.
Janessa will be two in November and Jing Ni will be three in September.
I found these adorable china girl fabrics in Charlotte and knew right away they were meant to be made into dresses for Jing Ni and Janessa!

Two x Two

I'll always smile when I think of the fun I had on a trip to Charlotte with the mom of these two sets of twins to choose the fabric for these dresses. The two solids are smocked on silk dupioni (Ms. Dawn loves that word) and the geometric prints are Amy Butler fabrics. These are dear friends and I am so glad I had the opportunity to make dresses for these sweet girls!
